PMMST
Volunteer Commitment
When a child joins a swim team, so do the parents. Swim Team is volunteer-intensive sport that requires active participation by the parents in order to make our season successful. Because of this, each PMMST family has a 4-shift volunteer requirement for the season.
Many of our volunteer opportunities take no training at all and give you a front row seat to our swim meets! We highly encourage you to learn more about each volunteer opportunity and see just how easy it is to support our Marlins!
Families who complete the 4 shifts will recieve priority registration for the following swim season. If you have any questions, concerns, or need help, please email [email protected].
Volunteer FAQ:
- Where do I sign up for Volunteer shifts?
Volunteer jobs are posted as an event in your Sports Engine Swim Portal.
- Does my swimmer have to be at the meet to volunteer?
Actually no! You can volunteer and earn credit even if your swimmer is not attending a meet.
- What happens if a meet is cancelled or there is thunder/rain?
Volunteers are expected to be ready at all times during their shift, if there is a delay… you stay… if it is cancelled you still earn the credit.
- I am no longer able to do my shift… what should I do?
If you are 24-48 hours prior to the meet you can delete yourself from the volunteer job on your Active.com swim portal (directions below), if there is an emergency or short-term notice please email the Team Rep at [email protected].
- We are only attending one meet this season, do I still have to volunteer for 4 shifts?
Yes! We need your help, both during swim meets and in supportive roles to keep the team thriving. Reach out to the Team Rep for additional jobs outside the swim meet.
- Plans have changed and suddenly you are available to help-out, what are the next steps?
If it is prior to the meet check the event availability on the Sports Engine portal. if it is the day of the meet visit the Team Rep or Head Referee at check-in and provide your information and availability during the meet (1st half or 2nd half).
- I signed up for a job… what do I do now?
The day of the swim meet you will check in at the Officials Table prior to the meet start, verify that you understand your role and shift time, and then be prepared to work.
